What to Do If You Are Single on Valentine's Day

With the pandemic still going on, depending on where you live there are likely a lot of places closed this Valentine's Day. It is also likely for that same reason, that if you are single, dating these last couple of years has been difficult. If you are not already in a relationship finding one or going out on a date can be really hard. So if you find yourself single this year here are some things you can do instead.

Choose to be Grateful: Instead of spending the day being upset about being single, spend the day in gratitude. Spend some time thinking of at least 5 things you enjoy about your single life. These can be things like being able to be selfish with your time or being able to freely go after your dreams. Whatever they are, write them down in a journal so you can go back and remind yourself of what to be grateful for when you are feeling down about being single.

Practice Self-Care: Show love to yourself by spending the day practicing self-care. Create an at-home spa day, meditate, journal, take a bubble bath or get your nails done. Whatever makes you feel good.

Treat Yourself: If you don't have someone to spoil you on Valentine's Day, do it for yourself. Go out and buy yourself that thing you have always wanted. Order a nice meal from a high-end restaurant. Buy an expensive bottle of perfume or new makeup, or get your hair professionally done. Whatever you want, buy it for yourself that day.

Spend Some Time With The People That You Love:  Just because you are not in a relationship doesn't mean you don't have people who love you in your life. Spend time with your friends or family. You can go to your parents' house for dinner. Have a sleepover with close friends, go to the movies with your siblings, whatever fun activity you can do with those you love. You can also spend part of your day volunteering and giving love to others.
